Elections on Campus

Transparent, free, and fair elections are the foundation of our democratic society. That’s why Western is committed to equal representation for all candidates at every stage of the electoral process.

Election Signage Policy

To ensure equal representation, Western has a strict no sign policy on campus. Any sign found on campus will be removed and returned to the candidate’s office.

Campus Visits

Western proudly welcomes candidates to share their platforms with students, faculty, and staff. However, in order to preserve an environment of open debate, candidates from each political party (Conservative, Green, Liberal, NDP etc.) must be present for the event. Engaging in a debate or town hall style meeting would be appropriate.

All current health and safety protocols must be followed at all times. Please refer to our visiting dignitaries page for further information about inviting candidates.
